You've seen Star Trek. You've seen Stargate. You've seen Space Precinct. You've yawned at the clichês; rolled your eyes at the sanctimonious preaching; you're tired of the good guys always coming out on top. All in all, you think sci-fi's pretty tame.
Think again.
Forget brotherly love between all races. Even in the 32nd century, not everyone gets along, and not everyone plays nice. Some things never change. Not everyone's human, either. Somewhere along the way, we discovered we weren't alone in the universe, and it's a big place. Crime's got a whole lot more space to seep into; from the urban core worlds to the far-flung outer rim, someone's always up to no good.
Enter StarPol, a new police force for a new era. An enormous intergalactic organisation dedicated to keeping law and order 36/7. The officers who man its policeships - citadels in space - are a mixed bunch. Most of them are straight-arrows. A few aren't, and it's down to them to get the results you can't playing the rules.
After all, someone's got to do it.
StarPol is an episodic sci-fi/crime series following the exploits of intergalactic law enforcement in a distant future. Created by Ching-Ling Lim and Belinda Darling as a hobby project in April 2001, it's since taken on a life of its own. |
